Tagged Fish Information
 

1. Several knowledgeable anglers or charter captains will catch, tag and release ten (10) Coho Salmon of a minimum length of twenty (20) inches. The fish will be released evenly and randomly over the derby areas of Marine 8-1, 8-2, 9 and 10, but in no event closer than 3 miles from another tagged Coho or 100 yards from shore. No tagged fish will be released closer than 1 mile from the confluence of any spawning river or tributary.

2. Anyone who is involved with the tagging and release of the salmon will not be eligible to fish in the event.  The fish will be tagged and released from 7 to 8 days out until no later than 3 days prior to the start of the event. This will allow the 48 hours necessary for the caught and tagged salmon to re-adjust and go back into a feeding mode prior to the start of the event

3. An outside administrator will choose the three scheduled Grand Prize winners ($25000, $2500 & $1000) out of the pool of 10 tagged Coho, and administer the event with an Interactive Telephone System. The Everett Coho Derby will be sent a security envelope, which will reveal the number of the Grand Prize winning fish. The envelope will be opened at the conclusion of the event, if no Grand Prize winning fish have been otherwise identified.
